Great diaper for husband and grandparents

My son is 15 months old and we just started using cloth diapers on him when he was 14 months old. I have been using and washing these diapers for about two weeks and I am very satisfied. Although the label doesn't recommend it, I wash them warm and tumble dry low. I also line dry them which doesn't take as long as other brands but still seems to last a while. My husband didn't like other cloth diapers because of the work involved in filling, folding and fitting. These are the only diapers he uses when he's babysitting because they're pretty light. They are fairly easy to put on for a wavy 15 month old and the buttons hold up well. They fit well around my son's legs, back and stomach. Another thing I really like about them is that while they're still slightly larger than disposable diapers, I found them to be less bulky than some other cloth diapers. I bought two in the Einstein pattern and one in a bold color. I really like the cute Einstein drawing, but the shots are black so it can be a bit difficult to make out against the dark drawing when you have to put on a diaper in low light. The strong color is a pleasant poppy red. This diaper held up well during bedtime which is very important as my son pees a lot while he sleeps. Since my son sleeps on his stomach, I simply push the earbuds forward a little. The diaper pad consists of two inserts, one of which is attached at the top at the front and the other at the back. Pads have pockets, so you could probably stuff them for even more absorbency, although they work pretty well anyway. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that while the diaper stays ok, I'm a bit nervous because there are two tabs on each side to close and the diaper sometimes slips a bit. I wish there was another closure at the bottom, like Charlie's banana diapers, to hold the area just above the gussets in place. Also, to avoid leaks, make sure the ear tips fit properly and don't protrude from the leg area at all. That's common sense, but with the way a diaper is made, it's easy. It didn't fall out when the baby was wearing it, only when you tried to put the diaper on. Another reason I gave these diapers a 4 is that I found the solids difficult to remove, they stick a little to the inside than some other cloth diapers. Everything comes out in the wash. I highly recommend this diaper time but especially for a family that uses disposable diapers. This is a pretty easy setup for impatient dads or nervous grandparents.
