I was using a late 2009 iMac with a 27 inch screen that was limping at a crawl, so I recently bought a refurbished 2015 MacBook Pro. The iMac has no trade-in value, but I wanted to keep it and use it as a second monitor if possible. After a little research I found that I can connect a laptop to a desktop (mini display port to mini display port) with the right cable and mirror the laptop monitor to a 27 inch monitor. So I read the reviews and ordered the iVanky cable and was happy to see that it did exactly what it was supposed to do.
