For many years I've tried to get by with the roll of clear door guard tubes, but this material doesn't work for doors with an acute angle - such as where the door cuts into the beginning of the wheel arch. The plastic isn't the softest anyway, but it at least eliminates that sharp metal corner that keeps scratching my other car in the garage.
