I built my first rig and used it on my water block with 16mm (5/8") OD 12mm (1/2") rigid PETG tubing. My goal was to have some "slack" and these fittings were enough to accommodate minor alignment issues with hard tubing without making them look crooked. Judging by the picture, the equipment doesn't look terrifying; actually they look cute to me. I was a bit nervous at first as the joints seemed to move too easily and seemed like they were a loose fit. However, it passed the leak test and I haven't had any problems in the six months since installation. Another benefit is removing the water block, as it raises the tube fittings a few inches, making them much easier to loosen. For those planning to upgrade their processor in the future, this is a huge plus.
