I tried a less expensive brand, and ditched it for skins instead. A couple nicks and dings on the edges courtesy of my daughter, and it became clear I needed a full shell. I had purchased a kuzy shell for my wife, and liked the feel of the rubberized coating. It's well ventilated, super easy to install, and looks attractive. The only downsides are that rubberized paint on anything shows fingerprints and smudges. It's not a defect, just a fact. The other is that Apple made the springs on the screen with a narrow tolerance - adding a shell adds just enough weight that the screen may shift back or forth if you move the computer around. My only suggestion would be to use a higher grade plastic or vary the thickness so it's strong on the edges where the stress occurs but much thinner in the middle.
