After scraping with a plastic spatula and razor as instructed by the manufacturer, I applied it on a cold day, but it still stuck well enough that, as one commented, it can be moved. Gathering a komodo for the first few minutes, if necessary, isn't difficult, but the backing should only be removed a few inches at a time as you apply the felt. This felt is soft and large or fluffy but seems strong enough for the task, but I can imagine moving the grates around on the grill could easily grab this material and tear it apart before it hardens on the grill. multiple use. There was enough material to fulfill my vision of the Komodo B classic with about a foot left. After application I preheated the grill to 500° and slowly cooled it down hoping the glue would set and last longer and as I expected there was only a slight darkening of the innermost rim. So far I am satisfied with the product. UPDATE: I'm sorry to report that on the third use this pad fell apart when the lid was lifted. (see image). The gaskets on these grilles require a significant amount of effort to remove and replace, so I'm not happy at all. I will be replacing this with a more durable product. This one is too fluffy and soft.
