I mainly use this battlemat for Smash Bros so I will only rate this controller based on my experience with that game. The button layout is identical to the GameCube controller. So if you're used to playing on the GameCube, no adjustments are needed. As for the weight of the remote, it is much lighter than the GameCube remote. I don't know if that's good or bad for some of you, but as an Xbox owner, I like my lightweight remotes. It doesn't really affect gameplay, but it's a little odd that it's that simple. In terms of input, the only thing I have for the battle bar is the left stick. It's just too sensitive. Sometimes I just want to move a little to get an item (smash bros) and have difficulty doing so due to sensitivity. It tends to "click" and move the character too much. I would give this product 5 stars if this wasn't a problem. What really attracted me to this product is that it doesn't require an adapter. It connects directly to the Wii Remote. Another plus is that you won't have a problem with the cable being too short or bulky as the Wii Remote can be on your lap or next to you. If you don't have a Wii Remote, I recommend getting a Wii U Pro Controller. Of course, the button layout is different, but it doesn't take long to set up, it is completely wireless and there are no problems with the joystick flickering. All in all I highly recommend the Combat Pad if you already own a Wii Remote. It tends to "click" and move the character too much. I would give this product 5 stars if this wasn't a problem.
