Yes this is an expensive plastic box, but no you will not need to buy any other box for your cables after this.This thing is built like a tank. I've used it for my footrest for almost an entire year and it shows no sign of bending nor cracks. The lid is a little hard to open but this can be seen as a plus for some people (especially those with kids).Do be warned however that the box is pretty large. I would recommend measuring out the space you intent to stick this box in to ensure it fits. Thanks to the large size of the box however, you can fit a lot of cables and whatever size surge protector you want into it.
