We bought two of these despite being a 'new model' due to the persistent smoke and ozone from fires in CO and CA. First, they are made in China - I don't like that and you can decide for yourself how important that is. In addition,"guarantee"-it's a joke. Changing the filter every 2500 hours makes sense (I did the math). BUT to be safe, you need to switch every few months. It's not worth it. Filters cost $75 for each replacement! It seems to be one of those things that "lures you in with reasonably priced items" and then smacks the cost of upkeep and maintenance out of you. by numbers for a small room) quite noisy. And finally, but perhaps most importantly. Not sure how effective they are. I have not noticed any significant improvement in removing smoke odor from our home. Anyway, we both work all day everyday hoping they'll help with the air quality (it's been awful, and has been every day for weeks). The jury does not consider the quality and profitability. I am committed to lower filter prices. Substituting $40 each seems excessive to me.
