I have two cats who think everything in the house is a scratching post except their own scratching post. I lost a lot of expensive furniture. I'm not interested in screwing those plastic back panels to my furniture so I thought I'd give it a try. It works. Children do not scratch, it is hardly noticeable on furniture. The scratching has stopped on my legs, arms and the back of the sofa. And when I'm done, it comes off easily. The only problem is removing the tape from the backing. It takes a lot of trying and a lot of patience. I found it easier to try and remove the backing from the center of the tape rather than the corner. I can recommend the product and the delivery was good.
