Well made cat house. If your cat is going to use it

Construction/Appearance This is a very well made cat house. The color is very pretty and the design is great. Comes with a very thin, very small blanket. One of the white pieces connecting to the roof section had snapped through (probably in transit?) but I had some Gorilla wood glue on hand which I used to reattach the pieces and then left the clips on for a couple of hours I had no problems with it. If you have a hand drill, it's not difficult to assemble. I put it together myself and as an individual it's a bit difficult to line up some of the parts. It would have been helpful to have a second pair of hands to hold the parts in place while I drilled the screws, but I was able to manage it myself. It probably took me about 45 minutes to build just because I wanted to make sure I did everything right. All holes are pre-drilled so you can drive in a screw and take it to town. I don't recommend using a screwdriver by hand as it will take forever. The instructions are just pictures, but it's pretty easy to figure out what's going on. As another reviewer mentioned, I used some screws on the parts of the roof that were a bit longer as the ones supplied didn't seem long enough. A few days after building it I painted it with deck sealer to make the wood last longer. Convenient for cats: I wanted to use this house in the winter when it gets very cold, but I bought it in the spring. and now it's summer. It has a basement and an upper floor. There's a hole inside that leads upstairs, or you can access it from the outside (but it's doubtful a cat would do that). There are some fairly heavy plastic barriers to keep out the elements which I think might initially prevent a cat from getting inside. You may need to teach your cat how to get in and out as they may be afraid of plastic barriers. My street cat who pops up every now and then went there a couple of times after some persuasion but didn't stay. more than a few minutes in it. When she first walked in she didn't know how to get out so I had to push the barriers aside and let her put her head through. The real question you need to ask yourself is, will your cat use this shelter? I wouldn't want to buy something that expensive just for your cat to ignore. Luckily I had a gift certificate with me so I didn't pay full price. I coaxed my outdoor cat into it when it rained the other day and she stayed longer than usual so maybe she'll warm up, but it's been a few months and she's still not using it. At the moment, the forest is her real home. I give 5/5 for a prefab house made of durable material that is easy to build but I'm definitely sure your cat will love the shelter you provide. before you decide to buy.
