I read all the negative reviews about how the product arriving in poor condition. I can say I did not have any issues with shipping. I had no broken or scratched or even missing pieces. Everything arrived as it was advertised. Small holes in the box that did not effect the product. I can see why so many people did get damaged pieces as the product packaging is bare minimum and if something happens I can see damage accruing. The product itself is very sturdy and made from deck material you find at local home stores. Very strong and should last for years. My deck is made from the same material and its 10 years old looks brand new. One thing to note you must drill pilot holes into this deck material or it will split over time for one of the pieces. This manufacture failed to drill holes for the bottom cross support beam that holds the two legs together. The supplied wood screws that must be screwed in to hold the beams (4 in total) now if you have ever worked with wood or composite materials without first drilling pilot holes it will crack and split over time. Why the manufacture spent alot of time doing most of the hard work for you in the assembly process but failed to do this simple final procedure is beyond me. Turning to the instructions they are very simple but better than others I have seen. I bought two chairs and followed the directions to the letter except for drilling the holes for the cross beam. I used the supplied tools although I threw away the small wrench which did not work for me and used a pair of pliers which works so much better. Basically your holding the nut for the allen wrench, its just easier with the pliers. The allen wrench takes 30 minutes longer than using a drill with a hex key. Which is what I used on the second chair. Although a word of caution not to snug down the bolt till it stops, you want to make sure you donot over tighten. Also pay attention to the arm rests its possible to install them on the wrong side they only go one way. If you look at it carefully you should be able to see which one goes where based on the angles and curves of the top of the armrest. But installing them incorrectly is very possible and will require complete disassembly to fix. These chairs are very sturdy and worth the sub $200 price tag. I did take off one star for the price games the company uses to charge for more popular colors. I dont think we as consumers should have to pay for a companies inventory issues. Just make more of the popular colors. I also took off for the poor instructions and lack of pre drilling specific pieces. But in the end I love the product and would buy it again.
