The struts loosen and you lose them. You need to design a set screw for the rod.
The product looked great. Took advice from others and used Loctite. According to other reviews, I checked the tightness after the first few hundred kilometers and again after losing the first one. Lost a flag and pole in the first 400 miles. Lost the second at 800km. So durability isn't that impressive. So I have 2 bases and no flagpoles.
