Excellent coverage! I had a full size 6 inch memory foam mattress that I cut into 3 dog beds. At only 25 inches wide, this size is good as the bed fits the back seat of my BMW 3 Series. I also chose the larger bed that he sleeps in each night, 36" x 48", and a smaller one as well. cut into 3 inch wide strips and place under an old blanket on the landing. I highly recommend purchasing a double or full 6 inch memory foam mattress (cut with a serrated knife) rather than purchasing a pre-made dog bed (cover and foam) as a memory foam mattress is better than memory -Foam than what they put in the dog beds Fuzzy top is good except it may cause the dog to lick etc so I keep an old towel over the bed to keep it clean.
