Review on ๐Ÿž๏ธ Exploring the Wilderness with Outdoor Products Ripcord Hydration Pack by Brent Webb

Ripcord is a good hydration pack at a great price

I needed a compact hydration pack for adventure racing where I need enough space to stash my essential gear, groceries and gear - but anyway keep things light and convenient. A colleague has Camelbak Mule and when I saw it I realized it's just what I need. Until I saw the price tag. My first impressions of Ripcord are very positive. It has plenty of storage space, one large pocket that fits the full length of the pack and two smaller pockets on the top and bottom big enough for things like a wallet, cellphone, bike tire repair kit, snacks etc and then a large external pocket on the back under the Main flap for carrying a bike helmet and possibly a water bottle. As far as I can tell the backpack is neither waterproof nor waterproof so if it rains everything inside gets wet. Not a big deal for a cheap bag, but a waterproof compartment big enough for a wallet and phone would be a nice touch. When I first filled it with water, my bladder leaked. The connection point between the drinking tube and the drinking bladder is actually a screw connection and I only had to tighten it a little. Hasn't leaked since then. I also have a 100oz camera for the larger camel backpack I have and the large camera fits in the ripcord camera bag with no problem. Pros: Light weight, easily adjustable straps, plenty of storage space, large zippers and clips. and in a hurry it's easy, the chest strap can be adjusted up and down for a better fit and comfort, the build quality seems excellent. Cons: The waist belt is a bit taller than I would have liked and I wish it had a little more reflective piping (a gray reflective strip sewn into the top of the packaging). Some of the straps are a bit over the top so you either have to deal with a lot of hanging straps on the back of the backpack or find a way to tie them.

  • good item
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
