Review on ๐Ÿช‘ Enhanced Swivel Office Chair - Modway Exceed Adjustable Mesh Computer Desk Chair, Black by Jorge Kehayas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Light, mesh back, problematic

I decided to try this chair because my old work chair was worn out. I wanted to try a mesh back chair and while I prefer adjustable armrests, this chair at least has removable armrests, so I settled on the Modway EEI-2992-BLK. Having had a little time to use it I would say this chair rating is 3 1/2 stars. Let me talk about the pros and cons. Pros: This chair is very light - it's the lightest chair I've ever had, so it's very easy to move around. - Waterfall front seat that eliminates pressure on my legs when the front of the seat touches my thighs. - The cushion is at least as good as other chairs in this price range and even better than some. I've tried some chairs at Costco and Staples that had a rigid support where the hips met the chair that you could feel through the seat cushion. That's not the case with this chair, which has decent padding. Can it be smoothed over time? I will update the review if this is the case. - The hands can be raised if you don't want to lean on them. The armrests are also padded, not much but more than many chairs in this price range, many of which are all hard plastic. - The casters are smooth making it easy to move and very easy to move from one room to another. Cons - As several reviewers have pointed out, the lumbar support is a major downside here. Mine is adjustable up and down - I've noticed some users say they can't be adjusted - but that doesn't really help. I'm 5ft 3" tall and the lumbar support in the lowest position still puts pressure on the part of my back above the waist. The lumbar support also sticks out quite a bit - I usually lean forward when I work, and this is the only chair where the lumbar support even touches my back. It's not soft at all, by the way - it's just two plastic handles pressing a piece of fairly hard plastic into your back. Huge failure. My husband is talking about taking it off and replacing it with some foam. . Fortunately, it's very convenient. - The hex key can be a problem if you are not used to building something. It doesn't fit the device properly and the edges are so soft that all corners are smoothed out even when the tool is fully inserted. way into the screws; He didn't have to move enough to smooth out those soft edges - Since the lumbar support is so uncomfortable I can't use the coolness of the mesh back as it immediately hurts to lean back due to the lumbar support All the good qualities of this stool - and it has definitely some - are marred for me by the discomfort of the lumbar support. If you are the right size and the lumbar support is right for you, you will probably love this chair; If you are my size or smaller, the lumbar support will most likely be above the waist on your back. If my husband mods the chair I will update this review so you know how it worked out. You can use the armrests or push them out of the way, the fabric is cool and the waterfall seat is a plus, as are the casters. To me, this is a good chair with one fatal flaw; For those who are taller this will probably be a good chair.
