In the end everything worked out. At first I thought the part that sticks to the motherboard was broken because there was a piece of paper on the back of the tape that I couldn't tear off. I went ahead and attached it to the motherboard with a piece of paper and then put the tape in the connector and to my surprise it worked. There are no dead zones in the digitizer or anything like that. I couldn't believe it but it worked fine. I would recommend buying extra double sided tape, like a lot, but I was able to remove the old screen without the tools that came with this product. I only used precision screwdrivers and a thin pocket knife. Since it worked, I'm glad I went that route. I would think differently if it didn't work. But it will take time if you have never done it before.
