Bought this for a temporary (ie for several years) front door handle for our new (new to us but actually old) door handle Hometown. The front door area is fully covered so I'm not worried about elements getting in. We plan on upgrading our door at some point but aren't sure which door we're going to get just yet, so I didn't want to invest more money in a 'fancy' front door handle if I didn't know if it would be compatible with ours Neighbors. I just couldn't handle the round brass handle anymore (before and after photos attached). We had already replaced all the locks when we moved in, so this handle went well with our new schlage keyless entry latch. The door knob was very easy to install, I did it myself in a few minutes. It also comes with clear instructions if you are new to changing our knobs. The hardware upgrades along with a fresh coat of paint on the front door really made a big difference and we will be much happier with this door now that it has been updated. This handle fits snugly and evenly and is comfortable to hold when opening a heavy metal door. We had no problems with it and the result was even better than I expected. We received it in a matte black which I thought would show fingerprints/smudges but it actually stays very nice and clean and I don't notice any smudges on it sooner than a 'regular' doorknob. "Colors. All in all it looks great, feels and works great and we highly recommend this lever! We plan to get more for our home as we gradually upgrade and replace the interior doors (they have currently all the same round brass doorknob.) A great way to give a door a whole new look without spending a lot of money.
