Too heavy but cheaper than the previous model

I was happy to see that the new charging cable is available for less than the old Macbook cables (which could cost around $100). However, the design requires work. The part that plugs in seems to be too heavy, so the "beep" (or plugging-in sound) that other reviewers have mentioned is due to the cable starting to fall/slip off. My "fix" is simply to make sure the cable isn't slack but is supported by another surface (like in the picture) and isn't being crushed under the weight of the surprisingly long cable. This solved the "beep" problem, although I am concerned about the lifespan of this cable due to the fragility of this design.
