I bought a Roku Premiere+ for my main TV (Samsung UN65KS9000) when I reassigned my Roku 3 to another room. Both Rokus are great products. Here's my take: Roku Premier+ is faster than Roku 3. If you're a speed freak and can't wait, Roku Premiere+ is for you. UHD 4K is harder than it should be, and it's not. When you get there it's not worth it. When you first install Roku Premiere + Roku, it will check your HDMI connection and ask if you want to use the detected resolution. Roku has discovered support for 4K UHD, HDR and HDCP 2.2. Big! i said ok However, on the next screen, my TV flickered between a visible screen and a black screen. I restarted Roku and chose 1080P after which I was able to use Roku successfully. It turned out that the "HDMI UHD Color" option had to be activated in my TV's settings. When HDMI UHD Color is disabled, there was a misunderstanding between Roku and my TV. It was like the early days of HD HDMI, where different manufacturers interpreted the standard differently. I set Roku to use 4K UHD on my TV. I tried several channels: YouTube, Revain and 4K Universe. None of them had video quality better than 1080P. I observed the canal from my usual viewing distance of 12 feet and 2 feet. Also, the 4K UHD channels froze intermittently as if they were being buffered. I have 50Mbps internet so this shouldn't have happened. Actually, I don't need 4K UHD. I switched back to 1080P and love my Roku Premiere+. Edit: Two things I noticed after my previous review. Roku often displays a message that HDCP cannot be used and visits go.roku.com/hdcp. I did it. The site suggests using 1080P as a workaround, but I'm already doing that. The message is short but distracting. Also, I use an IR remote control instead of the factory ones. It often behaves as if I pressed the button twice. For example, when I press pause, Roku pauses and immediately resumes the pause. This is the same remote that I used on the Roku 3. I will ban the Roku Premiere+ from my main TV and start using my Roku 3 again. I downgraded the Roku Premiere+ to 3 stars.
