Ooma device is great but the phone is not usable. I cut the cable a few months ago and didn't notice a difference. I successfully transferred my old phone number to Ooma and got a second number for free. Here's some inside info: At the time of signup, Ooma forces you to sign up for their "premium service" for about $10 a month plus tax. I skipped that and went with a free service where you only pay taxes. The price of the premium service continued to drop as I delved deeper into the checkout process. In the very last step, just before I completed my order, the premium service was suddenly 50% cheaper ($5/month instead of $10/month) and only $60/year. At that point I agreed and my phone bills were about $5-$6 a month. Buy Ooma Telo 2 instead and use your existing phone.
