I've been using this at home with two new kittens for a few weeks. Pros: Effectively eliminates odors. With previous cats, I left a small litter box with plastic liners next to the litter box. I collected trash in a trash can every day and threw it out every few days. It was comfortable, but the smell of urine was ever-present even with frequent removal. This block effectively neutralizes odors so I only have to throw away used litter about once a week. I was concerned about the small hole (about 10" x 10") where the used junk goes, but it worked fine. The included shovel is useful too, and it's handy to have with you right away. Bad: Plastic bags (expletive removed). What you will receive is a long continuous tube rolled up in a refill pack. This is NOT a roll of bags - it's a long tube. What you need to do is extend a few yards and tie the open end into a knot. I immediately saw problems with this design. The first time I tried to empty it, I actually pulled the "bag" (closed with just the knot at the bottom) out of the bucket. The cutter worked well to cut the "pocket" off the roll. BUT as soon as I pulled it out the bottom knot fell apart and I had junk all over it. It's not that I didn't have a tight knot and didn't use a lot of pouch when tying it. I suppose this can be called "user error" except that there would be such a simple design fix to make it perfect. Instead of a cheap rigid tube that has to be tied and cut, why not use a series of bags with the bottoms *already closed and perforations between the bags, like in the grocery section of any grocery store? The pens are quite expensive and I have to say they are not exactly functional or well designed yet. After searching online I found a recommendation to use 8 gallon trash bags instead of fillers. They are cheaper and MUCH more functional. They get three stars because the odor control works but the plastic bags don't.
