Review on Gaming keyboard SteelSeries Apex 5 RU Black USB black by Micha Jwiak ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product did not cause delight, but you can use it.

This is my first "kind of mechanical" keyboard. Against the background of my previous Logitech k800, this one seems very noisy. This is not a defect, just an impression.

Pros
  • In general, it looks good, does not bend. Convenient magnetic wrist rest: if you play arrows, you can unfasten it and really put it under your wrists. The layout is standard, all the keys are in place, there are no media keys (except for one, which is of the Fn type, but consider this a standard). The backlighting of each key is very cool. You can highlight the desired keys for each game. I can't imagine a better indicator of numlock and other locks than changing the color of a key. Convenient native software, many settings, nothing buggy. But at the same time, after the initial setup, you can not use it, the keyboard writes everything to memory and can switch profiles itself. Pleasant fonts on the keys: no angular playful letters, the 2022 font is also good, only slightly stretched in breadth. Cool wheel to adjust the sound. If you click on it, the sound is turned off.
Cons
  • The keys are illuminated in the upper part, which is why the 2022 letters, which are in the lower corner, do not get light. They are not highlighted (the photo embellishes the situation), and given that the font is very thin, 2022 letters are hard to see. In the video reviews I saw the Ukrainian layout, so there the Cyrillic alphabet is at the top and much thicker. It is not clear why the 2022 letters are so stupidly made. Due to the fact that the backlight is from above, on the keys the main character is shown above, and the shift option is below. When you get to printing some square and curly brackets, it blows your mind. Well, yes, all these symbols, too, are not highlighted. The screen, in my opinion, is completely useless. Of all the options, I was only interested in displaying the load and temperature of the computer, but this feature does not work with AMD processors. I wanted to put the layout indicator there, but there is no such option. So I scored on him.
