I love this thing! I don't swim but I use them every night to sleep in busy New York. I've been using standard soft foam ear tips for a few years. They work but I never liked the way they stuck in my ear canal. Too deep and they were painful (especially since I sleep on my side and the pressure squeezes them harder), too shallow and don't work that well. Also, my ear canal always itches when I take them out. I often had to take them out to scratch and put them back in again. I was afraid the earwax would get into my ear with them and sometimes when I took them out there was a popping sound that worried me about my eardrums. Everything for a restful sleep. Putty Buddies are amazing! They stay outside of my ear canal and I think they actually block more sound. There is no pressure when I sleep on my side. It's like yours aren't there. You have no problem with foam. I can't imagine earplugs could work better. They are a little weird when you first take them out (my friend said they look awful) with a bit of stickiness but after 1-2 uses I got used to it. Also, it takes several tries to get the right amount. The first time I just split one in half. Too large. I would say I use just under 2/3 of one in both ears. Although all ears are different, I am 100% satisfied. I'm so glad to be rid of these foam ear tips forever.
