This product looks great on my counter. Ideal for accessing peppers while cooking. I had a funny case that I was asked to investigate further. I put in the regular salt I've always used and then got a new container to finish filling this item. I noticed it was a different salt, same brand but iodized. I put it down The next time I cooked the beans, I used the same amount of salt as I always do, and the same for the carrots. The carrots were too salty to eat and the beans were ok but noticeably saltier. So iodine either gives a saltier taste and absorbs more from the brew water, or I have to use a measuring spoon, which I never had. The only advice I have is to fill all 1/3 and not to the top as the moisture has seeped into the salt which would make me give it only one star but they have by gift, Ease of use and durability asked for their excellent rating. and it is easy to use and durable. I just don't like giving gifts that I don't like 100% and the humidity in a very well air conditioned house coming in just 24 hours bothered me. A rubber pad on top would be nice, but makes handling more difficult. So again only fill 1/3 and it should be better.
