I had a broken laptop that I wanted to use a VESA mount to attach to the back of the monitor. I like the "removable" aspect of it being two pieces. It has a small clip system that allows one side to slide off the other. In my particular case, I mistakenly thought this mount was wider than it actually is, it's my fault entirely. I couldn't screw it into the monitor mounts. I used some Gorilla tape and some Silbond glue and glued it to the back of the screen. Worked well and I can still remove the laptop and climb in if needed. It's just a piece of stamped metal, not very strong or anything, but I can't think of a problem with the light/small product it's intended for. I'm glad I found him.
