Good to answer a few questions. This disc is actually a Marshal branded disc. The hard drive is a USB only drive, no hardware interface with a standard SATA connector. In the long run, this means that if or when the drive fails, most ordinary computer technicians cannot recover the data on the drive as it is not something they can throw into a docking station. Most new Seagate drives are like this, so it's not a bad thing. Just remember to back up your backups. Previously, writing 2TB of data to a drive via USB 2 took about 26 hours. At least that's the estimate on my old Mac. So far, so good. Overall this is a good setup and for the price it's a great deal.
