Sigma 35mm f1.4 for Sony

If I had known it was that heavy I probably would have waited a bit for the Sony 35mm f1.8. I wouldn't recommend it for a longer backcountry hike or a night hike. I guess it's impossible to make a quality lens feather light with a maximum aperture of 1.4. I did some testing right after receiving it as I recently had a very bad experience with the cheaper Samyang/Rokinon and also another Sigma lens (all 6 lenses I bought from different vendors in one year had to go to the Seller will be returned by for strong decentration). This Sigma 35mm 1.4 lens was decentred tested by me using three different methods, and none of these methods gave results that could indicate a significant level of decentering/tilting of the focal plane. Like other reviewers, I found this lens to be very sharp, quite usable even at f/1.4. Lenses will not be worse than mine either. The bokeh isn't bad, especially when the main sharp object is close to the camera and the blurry objects are far away. But to call it "Cream" is a gross exaggeration, it's not a Verito lens. The infinity marker is exactly where it should be and the distances read in the viewfinder when focusing manually appear accurate. The autofocus is very accurate, I've always had better results with AF than with MF. Not super-fast autofocus, but my camera isn't known for super-fast autofocus. It came with some Digital Goja accessories that I'm not particularly interested in, other than a memory card, which makes the offer even more attractive. It seems that their customer service team cares about customer satisfaction. Given the price, discounts, and overall quality, they deserve five stars. I can't say anything about long-term reliability as I've had it for a few days. However, I have had no problems with other Sigma lenses that I have used for several years.
