I have used a Sony button mount on a PS4 controller before and found it almost perfect. Obviously this was a lot easier to install as no modifications were required. This PS5 mod actually feels and looks better than a Sony PS4 accessory. NGL, he looked a little more painful than he really was. However, you still have to be careful not to take anything apart and put it back together without missing something or doing it wrong. I've taken apart a few things for repairs and modifications in the past. This mod is simpler but I see some potential land mines. Tape installation requires maintenance. These are pretty strong bands and they don't seem to break, but I don't know what their tensile strength is. Also, the controller is all plastic with clips everywhere. It seems they are likely to break if not done properly. But it seemed like they were made for disassembly, so maybe it doesn't matter much. Installation took about 30 minutes and I was very careful. Your video says it will take about 10 minutes. I see it's possible, but I wanted to take my time and be extra careful. I didn't do the "extra" soldering step to program the L3/R3/touchpad. I only use this for FPS and don't see a need for more mappings than X and O anytime soon. I had an issue with the bottom install. I contacted the manufacturer's support team through Revain and they quickly sent a replacement part. Decent customer service is becoming increasingly rare, so I was glad they quickly resolved my issue. After the controller was modified I was really impressed with how well it worked and felt. The buttons are in an ideal position, it seems, for any hand size. They feel crisp and hard. Programming is very intuitive and fast. As with all back button attachments, slight manual adjustment may be required for use. The buttons are too easy to press, so my grip has to adjust a bit to avoid accidentally pressing the buttons. This mod has the standard look and feel that I really wanted. I highly recommend this product.
