I've been touring salt bougies for a while. We keep a Diamond Crystal Kosher to pinch and a Maldon to swap and I thought sometimes these pyramids get so clunky that we also need a way to grind them to fit our pepper mill. Peugeot is the first manufacturer of pepper mills, so why not add some salt? I liked that they would look like chess pieces so the steaks would be great on my plate. I knew I wanted a "natural" finish. I don't know what to say. The actual product is somehow not enough. the? "Green?" "Green?" Doesn't look like your maple cutting board or the classic wooden cooking spoon, for example. The other "naturallyβ treated wood in your kitchen is the good old light texture, simple and healthy with no frills. This tree looks like an odd gothic cousin of this color. Almost grey. You will surely love this item and we use ours every day and would replace it with the same one in a heartbeat. Still. For a bougie few like us, that seems a bit strange: now we've spent some money on different types of fancy salt (and loved every minute of it! No more umbrella girls for us!) and ways to serve them. It seems odd to go so far and miss out on something so simple, immediately noticeable, and irreparable.
