This is a very well made coat. The craftsmanship is the same as human clothing. My dog loves it when the weather is cold. It has a velcro attachment in the front with the belly strap attachment on the same side. You have to put the other side on the dog's leg as there is velcro only on one side, but that actually makes it easier to put on the dog. I have a similar coat that is made with velcro attachments on both sides & it is not as easy to put on because you are having to search for the straps underneath the dog to pull them up & attach them at the chest. I thought this coat was a little pricey when I ordered it, but after seeing how well it is made, I feel that it is worth the extra cost. It wears well & does not shift or ride up on the dog's body like some of the other coats I have purchased. It is very attractive. I plan to order one in the pink & tan color also. Only issue may be that there is no leash hole. The collar does not come up real high on the neck if it is folded down so it probably would not hinder a leash that is attached to a neck collar. Not an issue for me as my small dog rides in a stroller.
