Before I told you I thought it would be nice to give you an abridged version. The mount is very well made. Liked the labels. Save the box it comes in to store it! If you're good at soldering, swap out the 10 RPM motor for a 2 RPM motor (or less) of the same size so you don't have to spend a long time cleaning it to get results. You can brush 45s if you have adapters, but ymmv (see review). My formula: Fill a tank with Aquafina or any reverse osmosis water and 10ml of Kodak Photo Flo. Leave the temperature alone (it will warm up). Set a timer for 18 minutes. When finished, lift the orthosis and let it dry for 15-20 minutes, then remove it. Blot any drips at the bottom of the records and make sure the record is dry before putting it on. Now for the rant: *** By using this extensively over the past few months, I've developed some personal preferences that I'll share. ***The included motor is a 10 RPM motor that rotates at almost 13 RPM. Too fast for optimal efficiency in my opinion so I replaced it with a same size 2rpm motor that spins at about 2 1/3rpm - MUCH better than before. (Some soldering required) I've also found that at least an inch between the plates allows for more efficient cavitation. With a standard motor shaft length this is limited to one at each end of the shaft with 4 spacers in between. To solve this problem I bought some shaft connectors and a longer threaded rod and some nylon washers as extra spacers (see photo). I also bought a yoke to mount on the opposite side of the tank to support the end of the rod, as both the stock and my spare tend down and put unnecessary (and audible) stress on the tank during use ( ie not only water will scream, but also the tank wall!). Unfortunately, while this works well for 2 records at a time, the 3 spaced plates add more weight to the end of the bar and lean a lot when I lift the records to dry (see photos). The coupling I put on the motor isn't as strong as the stock one that's welded to the rod, so I have to re-tighten the connections from time to time, especially when cleaning 3 plates. After some experimentation I decided to only clean 2 panels at a time. Time to just use the included label caps as spacers, but I will continue to use longer stems and stem sleeves as I can prop them up on the extra clamp. This is great because the records stay on top of the water whereas in the past if I wanted to close all the grooves on the back of the record the front cover of the label had to be partially submerged in water. Also when I lift the strut it doesn't tilt as much with only 2 plates apart. Singles so they can't be cleaned, but they were designed for standard LPs, not 45s. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, although I do miss the manual brushing interaction. It was more therapeutic.
