That's true, but it depends on the app you're using. This worked well for an app called Squid where you can write notes. You just need to have a painting glove on the writing hand to reject the palm. The swivel mechanism is useful when you want to tuck it away and protects the silicone tip when you're done. My silicone tip had some lint in the silicone but was still usable. Be sure to read the instructions and wipe the silicone tip with a mini microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the device.
