I have a Gigabyte Aero 15 laptop with a faulty network card. This has been happening intermittently for several years, sometimes blue screen with Ntwrk06 error. Most of the time it didn't work even if the operating system was stable. I've tried every driver update I could find but to no avail. Eventually I changed it to this one. This isn't a very difficult setup, but it can be intimidating for some. Open the bottom of the computer, tear off a piece of tape, two antennas and one screw. reverse build process. It seems to work with the driver I had before and there are no signs of instability. Couldn't be happier!
