Review on πŸ”Š KLIPSCH K100-SW Subwoofer - 10" Front-Firing, 250W Peak Power for Superior Sound by Leonardo Sandoval

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best thing I've ever had

I've been in home theater for over 18 years and have constantly improved my equipment during that time: Current equipment: 65" Samsung KS-8000 4K TV (from the btw best display I've ever had) Samsung UBD 4K Blu-ray player; Onkyo TX-NR646 receiver; Polk CSA6 center speaker; Polk TSi200 front speakers; Polk TSi100 rear; Polk T15 top speakers and two Polk PSW110 subwoofers, and now my Klipsch K- 100sw which replaced the Polk PSW10 I've never owned high end, high end gear but my items have always been rated good to excellent It delivers an element I was missing which was a powerful, visceral, muscular base contribution (it could be a shaker if you want it) Of my two subwoofers, I set the Klipsch Ks-100sw's gain control to barley 1/4, but on my PSW110 I had to turn the gain almost to z crank it up to maximum and the Ks-100 still beats it. I still need some tweaking to balance things out. My disclaimer is that I cannot commentate on this sub with music as I only use it for movies. That being said, I think you'd be hard pressed to get anything better at this price point. I remember seeing the movie Saving Private Ryan in the cinema and the scene towards the end of the movie where the tank rumbles into the soldiers' position; They rest on a rocky berm and as the tank rolls in you can see and "feel" the rumble as the rocks and berms tremble and vibrate. Since then I've been trying to recreate this effect in my home theater. I finally got it with this sub. End of the story!

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Minor issues
