I've had two of these in a few years. I only bought a second one when I couldn't find my old one anymore. The original had no instructions, so all you had to do was guess how to use it. Unfortunately, this does NOT work for some dogs, but it does for others. I have one dog that is terribly sensitive to noise and another that doesn't seem to respond (not respond at all) to using this device. This is a dog that needs to control its barking. If I use it on her indoors, the other dog will run away to hide in her cage. In fact, if I just pick up the device, that dog will hide right away. I've also used this on some super barking dogs in agility competitions who seem to respond very well to it. So it really depends on the individual dog. You just have to try. I want this to work with my barking dog because it's an easy and unobtrusive way to control barking. It is effective in some dogs. I only have two that are at either end of the scale! (My barking dog has learned to use his "inner voice". I'm a trainer/behaviourist with over 50 years experience with dogs.)
