I have a Labradoodle (a Labrador/Great Dane mix) that we rescued from human society when he was only a year old. The poor dog has no training or social interactions and is therefore very reactive when he sees other people and animals. He left the house several times, and that's the only thing that helped. I had to shock him several times but to be honest after a few of them he started responding to a warning beep and then vibration before being shocked. He got to know those where his warning was to heed me. Did he correct the behavior himself? NO! It is intended as a learning tool to help you with this. The battery life is amazing, typically lasting 2 weeks and charging takes a couple of hours at most.
