Review on Bosch Parts 2610938414 Adapter Plate by Jay Jeong

Well made. I would give it 5 stars except that despite the many pre-drilled holes it does not fit the base of the Bosch 1617 series routers. I had to drill it myself which wasn't a problem as it's aluminum. I'm not sure which Bosch routers this fits on and I think calling this a "Bosch" plate would be incorrect. One more thing, the front has been sanded down to about 180 grit so it looks like matte chrome. The problem is that it's too rough for the record you're running the tracks on. It should be very smooth. I ended up sanding it down to 1500 grit to make it reasonably smooth. In general, I'd probably be better off buying a piece of aluminum and machining it yourself (you don't need a machine shop to mill aluminum - standard drill bits and carbide saws cut aluminum well (remember to coat any carbide saw blades with silicone spray to melt the aluminum does not bond to carbide).
