FYI: I returned this product and am currently awaiting a refund. It was a very strange product. I'm not sure if the one I got was just messed up, but it worked if and ONLY if I plugged in the hub AFTER (and usually 20 seconds after) I plugged the hub into my computer . Otherwise the hub will not send a display signal to my monitor. I kept getting an error saying there was no signal from either HDMI or DisplayPort depending on what I was trying to use. So if you are comfortable every time you want to connect the hub to your laptop, do the following: (1) Turn on your laptop separately. (2) Unlock your laptop. (3) Connect the hub to a laptop without an external power supply charging the hub. (4) Wait while the monitor connects to the laptop through the hub. (5) Finally, you can connect the power supply to charge your laptop. (Note that if you put your laptop to sleep or tamper with the display too much while in use, the hub will disconnect from the monitor again and you'll have to unplug and plug the power cord before you can wake the monitor. In general I would give the hub 2 stars it works but it can be very frustrating to deal with I would like a hub that I can just plug in and that works , within 2 weeks of purchase When I received a return applied for, they accepted this and sent me a shipping label very quickly, now I'm just waiting for a refund, currently we only have 2 days after I left it with UPS.
