This product is fun and easy for my 2.5 year old to use. A few bits of red is a tricky color, so as long as your kid doesn't try to chew on everything I think with regular use this won't be a problem. The normal eyes are almost exactly the size of a nickel, which is very important for manual observation of this toy. However, the box is damaged because they simply put a sticker on the outside of the product box and shipped it. This annoys me when I put my child's educational toys in the box after study time. Now I have a pineapple on my work shelf that she can see clearly and cry about all day. I wasn't planning on giving this as a gift but I couldn't remove the sticker from the box without leaving an adhesive backing on the box, I wouldn't give a gift if the box was slightly damaged.
