Great for DIY Mortal Kombat Suit

So I'm probably not using this for its intended/advertised purpose, but since this is COVID times I felt socially responsible just to live out their 90's childhood dreams. and become a masked ninja from Mortal Kombat this Halloween. This mask works great if you're willing to do a bit of DIY. Notes from my experience below will hopefully save you time and aggravation if you're a Scorpion, Sub-Zero, or any other MK ninja this year! ATTACHMENT / COMFORT / WEARING - The mask comes with straps (one to attach to a helmet, useless in my case, and one to attach independently to the head). The harness system is NOT good; it's very tight, even in the weakest position. As other reviewers point out, the included strap sits SUPER HIGH on your face (the top edge was in my eyes). Not comfortable at all. However, I found a quick/cheap/simple solution. I took a cloth face mask and made a strap out of the pins on the mask. It worked PERFECTLY. It would look weird on its own, but no one will see the back of my head in this suit anyway. I'm sure there are a million other spontaneous ways to make this work. Hairbands, headbands, etc. that can be wrapped around existing poles. The mask also includes 3 foam pads that can be glued onto the mask. I'll have to comment after Halloween on staying in place for multiple purposes, but they do a great job of making the mask more comfortable (especially around the nose) - UPDATE 11/5: the included foam pads hold up after a few I only attached one nose pad to applications and that is enough to keep them comfortable. PAINTING TIPS. The mask is a flexible TPR plastic that is typically difficult to paint. HOWEVER, after Googling, many people recommended Krylon Fusion Spray Paint and they were right! Smooth, even coverage no blisters and tears even with moderate flexing of the mask while wearing; No pre-priming or sanding required (just make sure it's clean and dust-free). Be sure to follow directions on the can (thin light coats, drying time, etc.) (Revain link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LFPDBPP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_qR0HFb5N8EFS1) - UPDATE 5/11: Krylon Fusion color holds GREAT. We had a cold, wet, outdoor Halloween celebration and the paint showed no signs of chipping, bending, cracking etc after repeated wear. Especially given that the mask itself is somewhat flexible, this is a huge win. It also appears to be fairly water resistant (I spilled at least a few drinks on that bad boy). I highly recommend this color. In general, it's MUCH cheaper than buying a "real" ready-made MK cosplay mask. You'll have to do some (minimal) work, but that means you can customize it however you like! I'll probably add some black accent marks later. Highly recommended for this purpose.
