Works as hoped. Ideal! Used to connect a 3rd gen Apple TV to a 15 year old 23" Sony Trinitron TV that was moved to my Man Cave because that TV cannot work with Tivo. When used with Apple TV, picture and sound are perfect! Also tested with Roku 3 and same great results. Incidentally, I've found that the Apple TV and Roku 3 supply enough power through the HDMI cable that I don't need to use the included power adapter. One less element to connect to the extension cord and one less cord! +++++ As an addition to this review I also have to report a separate experience: I tried to use this converter between Tivo Mini and Sony DVD player/recorder. I had this hooked up via an HDMI Y-connector connecting an HD LED TV and DVD recorder/player with a single HDMI cable from a Tivo Mini. The DVD was then connected to the TV via this converter and component connections. Tivo Mini rejected the converter connection due to a new anti-piracy standard. nverter gives great results connecting HDMI to a converter to a component on an old TV, but probably won't work in a modern Tivo environment or possibly other modern cable or satellite devices.
