Review on ๐Ÿ‡ Giddy Up Activity Multi Sensory by Melissa & Doug by Jeffrey Crutcher

Rare disappointment from Melissa and Doug

Love it. It's cute and made of quality materials. For this reason it gets 2 stars. However, as others have reported, you really have to knock the horse unconscious for it to make any noise. The head dangles, causing the horse to fall. With his head tipping over at the slightest touch, our 10 month old has nothing to hold on to when sitting. The only reason I bought it was the concept of our kid using it as a safe toddler jumper, as such it's a miserable failure. For crafting, you can fix this toy as follows: 1) Make it more stable by making it heavier. hull and/or make the bottom flat and fairly stiff. 2) The connection between head and body must be flexible but rigid. The child must be able to use it in order not to fall. 3) The child must be able to hold onto the reins (see #2). What you call a "kingdom" is just a rattle attached to a single string. 4) The sound of the canter is best activated by (slightly) shaking the lines (see #3). Bonus points for the pull resembling Hey/Vinnie sauce and the shake resembling a galloping sound.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
