I have several Bowen mount octaboxes including a 36" NEEWER version and a 47" version. THEY WERE ALL MUCH EASIER TO ASSEMBLE THAN the 24". The 47" is actually an umbrella design, no Bowens mounts (even easier to use). In contrast to square or rectangular soft boxes, octa boxes set rounded accents in the eyes. They also ensure a more even distribution of light. The NEEWER 24 inch octa box is great, very portable, durable, well designed and I will NEVER break it. Why do I recommend the big box? Poles that support 36 inches (or more) of bends simplify assembly. 100% lighter. So if you don't need 24 inch rods for portability, go for the big ones. I had to hire my wife to help install the last two bars in the 24" model. I'm almost 73 and no wimp, but between us it was all we were able to get those last two bars in place while keeping the unit on the workbench. It was a wrestling match! We knew what went where (instructions were clear), it was just a failure to put enough force on the shorter/stiffer bars without sliding the entire machine across the workbench.
