I like these pliers - beautiful and strong to the touch. They can grab food much better than old tongs with open triangular tips. They have silicone grips on the side. The handles are removable - they have ribbed tongues that extend. If necessary, they can be easily removed / put on for deep cleaning. The top of the tongs has a tab that closes the tongs. It also has silicone, but it's not removable. However, over time it will likely come loose, as was the case with an almost identical pair of tweezers I had. The pliers are easy to use. They are ergonomically comfortable and have a lot of weight. The only thing I don't like about these tongs is that they are difficult to clean from the inside. The inside of the handles is narrow and the edges of the metal curve inward, forming a sharp edge. There is a channel on both sides that catches food. The narrowness and sharpness of the metal edge make cleaning uncomfortable. The metal channel seems to grab the sponge and make cleaning harder than it needs to be. I have found that the best way to clean them is to soak them in hot water to clean the inside of the groove if needed. Overall the tongs are well constructed and able to reliably pick up larger items like steaks and chicken drumsticks. I would order again.
