I have this scratching post so my cat doesn't scratch the furniture. Stealing is not an option as it is cruel. So I took that and put it next to the chair that the cat was scratching. I've caught him scratching several times since installing it. I think that helps as I haven't noticed a cat scratching the chair since the scratching post was placed there. I love the look of this notepad. It is of good quality. I love the green color and it was easy to assemble.
