Like other naysayers, I doubted this headset would meet my needs. I bought this headset for my daughter so we can play online games together. I really didn't want to spend too much, but a recent headset purchase at Walmart really got me going. Realtek Audio Manager, and let me tell you, these things sound really good. Audio is part of my daily work and has been for many years. If they sounded like crap I would tell you. I personally have a SteelSeries Siberia 840 and I would say the sound quality is on par with the 840. Of course, I didn't actually buy Siberia's concert quality drivers. It was more about wireless and Bluetooth capabilities. Don't get me wrong, I love my 840 Wireless, but if I had to travel I'd have no problem taking the U3 with me. The bass is very good. You may feel a faint thump at low frequencies. But it also sounds very tight. No weak bass. Mids and highs sound good and clear. Like I said, tweak your sound with the equalizer and you'll be amazed. The microphone is also very clear. I'm only getting great levels in Discord with normal 100% mic gain on Windows. Even at +10dB gain it still has very little noise. Anything higher and you'll start hissing if you're in a moderately noisy room. The only problem I have with them is that the cup size for my ears is just a hair smaller than I like even though the cups are quite large. Room. I'm so used to my 840s and their big, deep pads. I know, screwed up :) Also, the cups don't rotate, so if you're planning on leaving the cup headless for a long time, it's likely to get uncomfortable after a while. So all in all, take her. If you just don't trust anyone, the best part is that you only have $16 :D
