Review on Turtle Beach Recon Controller: The Ultimate Wired Gaming Experience by Jason Porter

Feels great but turns off intermittently

Controller feels great. It felt natural coming from other standard Xbox controllers. The grips are ok, the keys feel solid. Everything was fine with me again. I really liked the controller, but unfortunately I felt I had to send the controller back. My problem was that it randomly turned off while I was using it. First I had to unplug the cable from the controller and then plug it back in to get it working again. Certainly not ideal in the middlegame. I found that sometimes it disconnected and reconnected after a few seconds and I didn't do anything. I never found out what was wrong with it, maybe I just had a broken cable or USB-C connector, but wiggling the cable never disconnected or reconnected it, so I really don't know what's wrong with it The disconnect happened, the input seemed stuck on whatever I had pressed last, so in Rocket League for example it kept accelerating and spinning until the controller was able to reconnect. The controller still burns, but only partially. There was a little white light in the middle of the controller that was still on, but the top with all those extra buttons didn't work. It looks like the controller is somehow malfunctioning and needs to be restarted. I've tried emailing their support team to see if they can offer any advice or guidance, but after 12 days I still haven't received a response. I used the controller on my PC. My PC is running Windows 11 so I'm wondering if this is a compatibility/driver issue with Windows 11? Again, I don't know. I haven't had this problem with other Xbox controllers.
