My previous plastic phone holder cracked. This is very well made and durable. It fitted my handlebars snugly without using any of the inserts. I have an LG V30 and this mount fits perfectly. There's a finger touch sensor on the back of the phone and this mount doesn't bother it, volume controls on the side and a touchscreen. I was worried that tightening and loosening the screw each time to install/remove the phone would be slow, but it's very easy and quick. I have a relatively thick plastic case around the phone and this adds some padding to the mount; I recommend the same. The only downside is that it's not a lightweight mount and if I ever fall and hit the handlebars the mount might be stronger than my ribs.
