The frame is fully assembled and ready to use. I was impressed with the quality of the frame as the frame itself looked beautiful. I was concerned that the hinge design wouldn't align the corners perfectly, but it looks great. Very easy to open and insert your poster. The package includes a clear plastic sheet that can be placed over your poster to protect it. The plastic sheet also comes with a thin sheet of plastic that you can peel off to keep it perfectly clean. There is a second plastic sheet that is not transparent but scatters the light more. The base of the frame is made of white plastic. I wasn't aware of that and I took a risk when I bought it. I was happy to see that the white plastic back is thin enough that it glows when you place a light source behind it. I bought this frame to build a lightbox to make a backlit frame for my poster that needs to be backlit. I brought the frame to the window with my poster and I think when I assemble my lightbox everything will be great. The mounting holes on the frame are also ideal for installation. **Update** I have finished my frame and would like to add photos. This SnapeZo frame is PERFECT! The white plastic backing diffused the light well so that the streaks of light behind the poster were not visible. I have 5 led strips in the box behind the poster and it looks amazing. This SnapeZo frame was expensive, but it was worth it because it saved so much time and effort trying something for the front myself.
